This agreement is designed to ensure that we have a clear and common understanding of the commitments and responsibilities for achieving the coaching goals. Expectations
To ensure clear and common understanding of commitments and responsibilities, the following outlines the expectations of the coach and client:
Expectations of Coach
- Commit to achieving program goals
- Provide a supportive environment that fosters open discussion
- Provide useful and constructive feedback and perspectives on leader success
- Use his/her expertise to make suggestions regarding the achievement of goals
- Ensure that clear action plans result from each meeting
- Come prepared to each coaching meeting; review participants progress at each meeting
- Phase out support when goals have been accomplished
Expectations of Client
- Commit to achieving personal learning plan goals
- Share thoughts and perspectives openly
- Keep an open mind; listen to, explore and utilize feedback
- Contribute to ideas and action planning; be willing to take risks and make changes
- Take specific action and follow through on assignments
- Come to each coaching session prepared to discuss progress to date and relevant upcoming issues to practice and/or prepare for
- Reconnect as needed to ensure maintenance of behavior change achieved
